About the CFIPO.

Established in 2011, our organization is dedicated to supporting the mission and music of the Israel Philharmonic (IPO) through fundraising and promotional initiatives across Canada. We seek to engage friends who share the values of the IPO and wish to enable it to enrich diverse audiences around the world in its role as Israel’s preeminent cultural ambassador.

Thanks to the support of CFIPO, the IPO has been able to initiate and strengthen programs, maintain its high standard of musical excellence, and invest in the creation of new digital programming. The IPO’s 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 seasons were impacted by the worldwide pandemic and government restrictions on large gatherings, but live performances resumed at the end of May 2021, with limited digital programming to reach audiences around the world. As a result, CFIPO has seen an increase in new donors from Canada.

In addition to supporting the IPO’s digital programming, CFIPO also continues to invest in the IPO’s music education programs, KeyNote and Sulamot. These programs provide much-needed music education to thousands of children throughout Israel, of all religions and from all sectors of society. Even during the pandemic, music education continued both virtually and in-person when safely permitted.
